Merilee Karr, Founder & CEO

Merilee founded UnderTheDoormat after 13 years with Shell, including periods as Global Strategy Manager and Global Retail Maintenance Manager at Shell.

It was her experience during her travels for the company – and the many places she stayed at – that created her desire to make a difference to the homestay sector: to give travellers access to the home comforts they craved with peace of mind that comes from professional service.

Merilee’s career has been defined by a passion for travel, innovation and a commitment to quality in short term rentals. The former Chair for the UK industry body, UK Short Term Accommodation Association, she is passionate about helping professionalise and responsibly grow the industry.
